Research on the flipped classroom – a form of blended learning in which the traditional lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed – suggests that this approach can increase student involvement, task orientation and innovation as well as motivation and engagement. However, to reach these positive outcomes the flipped classroom needs to be carefully thought through and implemented. Based on previous research findings and my personal experience of implementing the flipped classroom design in two business administration and management courses at Dalarna University, this presentation points out some considerations when flipping the classes and provides with some examples.
